Capture the Flag
<< Back to main page

This is essentially a variation of the Fort scheme.

Players are divided up into two balanced teams, and each team must place their worms on one side of the terrain only, at the start position marked on the map. The map is usually symmetrical. Unlike the fort scheme, there are no rules, so players may invade their enemy's fort. The purpose of the game is to either kill the enemy, or destroy their flag, which is represented simply by a piece of the terrain. If a team's flag is destroyed, they lose the game, regardless of how healthy their worms are.

Some variations on this scheme include non-symmetrical maps (such as a map themed on a castle assault or beach-head invasion) and multiple flags which must all be destroyed to win the game.
